Ronald Wright vs Paul Williams

About the Wright vs Williams Fight

The Wright, Williams odds currently show Williams as the slight favorite (Williams -190 / Wright +150 at 5dimes.com), but I don’t think either of them care at this point in time.  Both are just happy to get in the ring and finally have two contenders that are feared.  On April 11th, both of these Southpaws will square off.  Williams is considered the most feared fighter in his weight class, which is why he can’t get a fight.

Williams, aka, “The Punisher” wants the big fights.  In an interview by HBO he said, “the other fighters won’t even fight me, they should be playing hop scotch or something, this is a fighting game.”  Williams is traveling to Washington to train, keeping away from hometown distractions.  His trainers said they didn’t label him as the most feared and avoided fighter, his opponents did when they decided not to fight him.

After he won the belt, Williams suddenly found everyone was ducking him.  When he finally got a fight against Carlos Quintana, he got beat.  He bounced back and defeated Quintana in his rematch with a first round TKO.

Ronald Wright says one reason he is taking this fight is because he knows how it feels to be avoided.  Once you get the belt, you get avoided like the plague he said.  Despite taking two years off and being 10 years older than Williams he said he doesn’t feel rusty at all.  During that time he was still training and looks forward to a fierce battle between two unique opponents.

At the time of this article the only online sportsbook to have Wright vs William odds up was 5 dimes.  You can put your bets in now at 5dimes.com as most of the other online books either don’t carry boxing betting anymore or put the odds up way late.
